On the eve of the June elections to the European Parliament, Czech counterintelligence exposed a pro-Russian network of influence on MEPs in Prague, behind which was Putin’s godfather Medvedchuk, writes the publication “Voice of America”.
According to LB.ua sources, this network was exposed thanks to the SBU.
It is known that the network paid politicians money to praise Russia and Putin in the European media, as well as published anti-Ukrainian and anti-European materials on its own website “Voice of Europe”. The goal is to bring as many pro-Russian politicians as possible to the European Parliament.
Medvedchuk launched the “Voice of Europe” website together with the former general producer of the “112 Ukraine” TV channel Artem Marchevsky.
“Putin’s European political fan club has suffered a serious blow, because now many MEPs are demanding a thorough investigation of Russian influence and punishment for “colleagues” who embezzled Russian money,” sources inform.
- Earlier, the Czech authorities announced that they had uncovered a Kremlin-financed network of spreading Russian propaganda and bribing European politicians. According to information from the Czech special services, the operation is managed by Putin’s godfather Viktor Medvedchuk.
