Detained by the Ukrainian special services, the people’s deputy from the “Opposition Platform – For Life” and godfather of the President of Russia Viktor Medvedchuk testifies to law enforcement officers. About it reported Aleksey Arestovich, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with lawyer Mark Feigin.

At first, Arestovich was asked whether Medvedchuk could be exchanged. The adviser explained that it would not be easy to do, because “the detainee has not yet told everything.”

“And he tells already?” Feigin asked next.

“Of course, life is a complicated thing… Medvedchuk testifies to the fullest. But that’s not the point, everything is trickier here. Many people of Medvedchuk were detained, but they have nothing to hide, they have a completely different interest, they speak in full. testimonies… Medvedchuk may even be silent,” Arestovich added.

The adviser to the head of the OP noted that those interrogating Medvedchuk are not engaged in torture. Professionally, it’s easier to interrogate people who worked in the security services or in the legal field, he says.

“In a professional conversation, they do not notice where they began to testify against themselves. Medvedchuk will try to defend himself professionally, and here an imperceptible shift in boundaries may occur, which he is not aware of,” Arestovich summed up.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the detention of Viktor Medvedchuk On April 12, and as proof, he published a photo of the people’s deputy in the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The next day his wife Oksana appealed to Zelensky and the head of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with a request release her husband.

Focus previously collected information on criminal proceedings, in which a pro-Russian politician appears. Medvedchuk escaped from house arrest after the start of a full-scale war between Ukraine and Russia.

In the Kremlin drew attention to the detention of Medvedchuk, but stated that he is not a citizen of the Russian Federation. Moscow promises to “closely follow” his fate.
