Medvedchuk bribes European politicians: the mass media revealed the scheme

The Czech government has exposed a large network of spreading Russian influence in six European countries – Germany, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Hungary.

Investigative journalists discovered that the key figure in the network was a Ukrainian pro-Russian politician Viktor Medvedchuktransferred by Kyiv to Russia in 2022 during the exchange of prisoners.

About this write Financial Times.

Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croo told his country’s parliament that “Russia approached EU parliamentarians and paid them to promote Russian propaganda here,” the day after Czech authorities imposed sanctions on Medvedchuk and his associate, and of the Prague news site “Voice of Europe”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic stated that Medvedchuk is in charge of the operation of Russian influence on the territory of the Czech Republic.

In addition, the Czech authorities are convinced that “Voice of Europe” exists to influence and actively spread disinformation and propaganda directed against the territorial integrity, independence, sovereignty, stability and security of Ukraine.

Medvedchuk has not yet been sanctioned by the EU, but the Czech ministry said it would seek to have his name added to the bloc’s “blacklist”.
