Almost a year has passed since the Medion mopping robot MD 18999 was last sold at Aldi North and South. Now it’s that time again: On August 24th, both discounters will add the smart helper to their range for 199 euros.
Although nowadays more and more robotic vacuum cleaners are also equipped with a mopping function, some pure mopping robots are still offered. With the Medion MD 18999 there will now be one to chew in the branches of Aldi Nord and Süd from August 24th. The smart helper cleans all hard floors independently and is guided by a gyro sensor.

For cleaning, the Medion mopping robot MD 18999 has a 0.9 liter fresh water tank and a rotating cleaning roller, with which it should exert a little more pressure than most vacuum robots. If a point has been driven on, the wastewater is immediately sucked up again and collected in a separate, 0.85 liter wastewater tank. A cleaning process can take up to 80 minutes, the robot processing around 25 m² in this time.
No operation via app or voice
Since the Medion mopping robot MD 18999 does not have a WLAN connection, it can be controlled either directly on the device or using the remote control supplied. Users can choose between the three modes of point cleaning, area mode (5 × 5 meters) and automatic cleaning for larger areas.
The Medion mopping robot MD 18999 is suitable for regular cleaning as a supplement to a vacuum robot without a mopping function. From August 24th, it will be offered at Aldi Nord and Süd for 199 euros. In addition, due to the reduction in VAT, another 3 percent is deducted and the 3-year guarantee is longer than average.
