Mediobanca did well: the shareholders’ meeting approved the financial statements and appointed the new Board of Directors. Positive start also for UniCredit and NEXI
The major indices of the Italian Stock Exchange and the main European financial markets began the first session of the week with fractional progress.
At 09.10 am FTSEMib was up 0.23% at 27,351 points, while the FTSE Italia All Share it earned 0.33%. Plus sign also for the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (+0.38%) and for the FTSE Italia Star (+0,44%).
Uncertain session for i main US stock indexes. The Dow Jones closed down 1.12% to 32,418 points, while the S&P500 lost 0.48% to 4,117 points. Positive performance, however, for the Nasdaq (+0.38% to 12,643 points).
The Tokyo Stock Exchange closed the first session of the week in negative territory. The Nikkei index remained on the ground 0.95% at 30,697 points, after fluctuating between a minimum of 30,538 points and a maximum of 30,763 points.
Il bitcoin it was reported above 34,000 dollars (just under 32,500 euros).
Lo spread Btp-Bund it narrowed below 195 points, with the yield on the 10-year BTP slipping to 4.7%.
L’euro stands at $1.055.
I banking sector securities they remain protagonists.
Mediobanca started the session with a rise of 0.89% at 10.775 euros. The shareholders’ meeting of the Piazzetta Cuccia institute approved the budget for the 2022/2023 financial year and the distribution of a unit dividend of 0.85 euros. Furthermore, the shareholders have set the number of members of the Board of Directors at 15 until the approval of the financial statements as of 30 June 2026: of these, 12 are taken from the list presented by the bank’s board of directors. At the end of the meeting the Board of Directors appointed Renato Pagliaro as president and Alberto Nagel as CEO.
Plus sign also for UniCredit (+0,15% a 23,115 euro). The institute led by Andrea Orcel has defined the methods for the execution of the first tranche of the 2023 share buyback program for a maximum amount of 2.5 billion euros and for a number of shares not exceeding 160,000,000 . In particular, purchases will start on October 30, 2023.
Positive start to the day for CONNECTED (+1,34% a 5,444 euro). The company has published analysts’ estimates on the accounts for the 3rd quarter of 2023, updated to 27 October 2023. According to indications provided by 11 investment banks, NEXI should have closed the period under review with revenues of 871 million euros, an increase by 5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The gross operating margin is estimated at 491 million euros (+7%), with a margin of around 56.3%.
