Medieval Celebration at Bauska Palace: Floret and Epee Fencing Tournament, Dance Ballet Performance, and More!

On August 20, Bauska Palace will host a celebration with two interesting events. The VIII Floret and Epee Fencing Tournament “Ius Gladii – The Right of the Sword” will be accompanied by medieval music and in between the performances will be performed by a professional circus duo, the acrobatic studio “Melange”, and the ancient music ensemble “Artemisia absinthium”.

at At 19.00, the historical dance ballet “Cracovia Danza” from Poland will visit the Bauska Palace with the dance performance “Veiksme – Lady with a Crown”, in which fragments from the Renaissance ballet performance are reconstructed with Leonardo da Vinci’s costume design. The clothes of the dancers of the “Cracovia Danza” ensemble were made in France and Poland according to the 16th century. iconography. The courtyard of the Bauska Palace and the renovated facades in the Renaissance style will serve as decorations for the show.
