LONATE POZZOLO – Prestigious speakers, a large audience of postgraduates in medicine and surgery and in nursing sciences, all connected by videoconference in compliance with anti-covid rules. Conference works via the web which, however, have not diminished either the scientific significance or the participation in the 9th edition of the Cardiology Days, organized by Iseni y Nervi Foundation – Iseni Sanità Group, this year dedicated not by chance to “Defensive Medicine vs Preventive Medicine at the time of Covid-19 “. With a subtitle that completes the in-depth analysis carried out by the speakers: “Between science, health management and the legal aspect”.
Themes anticipated in September during the presentation press conference at Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate. Themes that, in fact, are part of what has happened in recent months, with the epidemic that has taken over and has affected health care at all levels and not only. To the point that “cure” has become synonymous with “defensive medicine”. This is how one of the main threads of the congress concerned spaces and models of reaction compared to cardiological and vascular pathologies, which the pandemic has certainly not reduced but, on the contrary, has accentuated in terms of diffusion and, indeed, the possibility of diagnosis and treatment.
From here the interventions of the experts started, coordinated by Francesco Fedele, full professor of the School of Specialization in Cardiology of the Sapienza University of Rome. After the introduction of Andrea Macchi, general manager of the Iseni Sanità Group, animated the debate among others Massimo Venturini, director of the Radiology Complex Unit of the Varese hospital, Federico Dehò, Head of Urology in Varese, Lucia Torraca, chief cardiac surgeon of Humanitas in Milan, Francesco Manfredi, vice rector of the Lulm School of Management, Matteo Montorfano, head of hemodynamics of San Raffaele in Milan, as well as important names of universities and hospitals nationwide. In short, leading exponents of medicine and surgery, called once again by the Foundation chaired by Fabrizio Iseni to address priority and urgent issues on the health front. As evidence of Iseni y Nervi’s traditional commitment to research and scientific dissemination.
On the occasion of the “two-day congress” Once again this year the Foundation financed a master’s degree in Communication and Information in Cardiology from the Faculty of Medicine of La Sapienza in Rome with a scholarship.
Other scholarships were given by the families of Elio Pozzi and sisters Nadia and Maria Grazia Bianchi, in memory of her mother Giovanna Ferrazzi, thanked by the president of the Foundation, Fabrizio Iseni. Who also focused on the commitment and sacrifices of all health workers, doctors, paramedics, administrators and sanitation workers in Italy and in the world, in favor of those who suffer “especially in these tragic, difficult moments of the pandemic, so that patients have relief and, in the vast majority of cases, have their lives saved ”.
