Technode Hadera, the Israeli Museum of Medicine, Space and Science, invites the children of Israel to enjoy the summer fun under the banner “Medicine in Space”, which will be held in the month of August between 09:00 and 17:00.
A mysterious virus is discovered on the International Space Station that threatens the lives of the astronauts. In the workshop that will be held in the medical unit of Technode, the participants will use unique laboratory tools and materials that will illustrate for them the research and development process that characterizes vaccine development in the world of medicine and biotechnology.
At this event, the children will be able to become young space researchers and learn up close how a serious epidemic that broke out in space is treated, how viruses behave, and how a life-saving vaccine is developed as part of a special mission team, and how the effectiveness of the vaccine sent to the space station is tested. All this under the pressure of time and the danger of life that hovers over their heads. Through experiments, scientific puzzles and missions you will save the astronaut crew of the spaceship.
The summer happening at Technode Hadera will include stations, where the children will visit, and a unique activity will take place there. Starting at the Science Museum, where a national station for space exploration will await the children, the auditorium, where the children will enjoy watching “Neil’s Show”, a humorous live show about a conversation between a moderator in the auditorium and an astronaut in the middle of a journey in space. In addition, it will be possible to visit the planetarium, in the medical unit, where a workshop for the development of a vaccine in space will be held.
In another complex that has been completely transformed into the planet Mars, the children will be able to move between real space and virtual space, while they locate injured people in a remote colony on Mars, diagnose the injury and provide appropriate treatment. Through the technologies of virtual reality and augmented reality, the information will flow to the tablet computers in the hands of the visitors and through this information the participants will try to fulfill the mission and save the survivors in the colony.
At the same time, there will be guided tours during the day at the first and only medical museum in Israel in Technode. Details on the website
