This year, the country will host the World Congress of Medical Students, which will be held from July 29 to August 8, 2020 at the Hotel El Panama.
The Panamanian Alliance of Medical Students, organizer of the event, announced that around 135 countries will participate in this version, which will address methods and techniques to treat adolescent health, suicide prevention and HIV.
The president of the organization, Martin Pretel, said they expect the arrival of 1,500 medical students, from all continents, to participate in the activity.
“This seeks to unite students from all over the world, to propose the development of social impact and public health activities,” said Pretel.
In addition, he announced that national and international infectologists and psychiatrists will attend the meeting.
