Medical mouth cap and corona proof needed in the Austrian ski lift

Austria is introducing additional corona measures for the coming ski season. For example, winter sports enthusiasts are only allowed to enter the ski lift with a corona pass and the après-ski opens under certain conditions. It is compulsory to wear a medical FF2 face mask in the lifts.

“Strict rules, safe winter”, the Austrian cabinet announced the additional rules. For Austria, the so-called 3Gline, which stands for vaccinated, cured, or tested. A negative test result of an antigen, PCR and rapid test is still valid. On the other hand, the distance rules and capacity restrictions in ski lifts will be abolished.

But the Austrian Minister for Tourism Elisabeth Köstinger was clear: “If you want to have a safe and carefree winter holiday, you should get vaccinated”. If the number of infections increases, the authorities can tighten the measures even further.

Switzerland

In Austria, the ski areas will open, but for other countries that is not yet completely certain. Switzerland, as one of the few countries in Europe, kept the slopes open last year. This year, skiing will probably also be possible there, but nothing has been announced about additional rules.

Last week, senior officials from the Ministry of Health hinted at the introduction of a corona pass for winter sports enthusiasts, write. Swiss media. A corona pass is already mandatory for the catering industry in the country and mouth caps must be worn inside.

Because winter sports are recreational, it is legitimate to also apply the pass for this, the authorities reason.

France

The introduction of the pass for winter sports enthusiasts is also likely for France, report French media. The so-called ‘health pass’ is already mandatory in many places in the country, for example in the catering industry and in places where more than fifty people are together.

“I don’t see why the ski areas can’t open,” the French deputy tourism minister said earlier. “We’ve reopened the nightclubs and I don’t see why it shouldn’t be for the ski lifts.” The minister has today consulted with the trade association of ski lift operators.

Nothing is known about the areas in Italy yet.
