Compulsory health insurance is about to be completed in all country emiratesand is expected to enter into force by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
The eighth edition of Health Insurance Conference, Organized by the Insurance Association of United Arab Emirates, started this Monday with the participation of 150 officials and experts from the region’s health and insurance industries.
The relevant health authorities of the UAE represented by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, as well as the private sector, including operating and insurance companies health centers credited, expect to connect the unified health record ‘Riayati’ within a federal digital platform approved by all service providers. He also noted the success the UAE had in overcoming the repercussions of the pandemic of Covid-19, which has strengthened the capabilities of the government departments and their aspirations towards new horizons to explore the future.
In early November, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) signed an agreement with a group of nine local insurance companies to launch the new framework Unemployment Insurance Scheme. This plan is intended to provide worker protection of the private and public sector which will allow a cash compensation for a limited period not exceeding three months in the event of termination of the employment relationship due to force majeure.
