West Brom’s Championship clash with Bristol City at the Hawthorns was twice delayed on Saturday following medical emergencies involving a home fan and an away fan.
The game was delayed before kick-off, which was postponed until 3:15 p.m. as the club confirmed that a local fan was being treated in the stands.

A club statement on Twitter said: “Due to a medical emergency involving a fan inside the stadium, the kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the supporter. We are all with you.
The spectator was carried on a stretcher but was conscious and gave a thumbs up to the crowd on exiting.
And later, the start of the second half was also delayed after another medical emergency in the away stand, with a Bristol City fan in need of treatment.
Due to a medical emergency involving a supporter inside the stadium, the kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes.

A statement from City on Twitter read: “The start of the second half will be delayed due to an ongoing medical emergency on the side of Bristol City supporters. Our hearts go out to those affected. “
It comes less than a week after a similar situation involving a Newcastle fan in their 3-2 home Premier League loss to Tottenham last Sunday.
TalkSPORT reporter Geoff Peters was live in Hawthorns and described the scenes before the kick-off on Saturday afternoon.
“We saw part of the medical team in this gallery, there seemed to be a supporter carried on a stretcher,” he said.

“We obviously don’t know the level of the problem, but the person on the stretcher was applauding the West Brom fans, who were applauding them all.
“So it might seem like it wasn’t that bad. “
Geoff has been joined by former Liverpool Women’s striker Courtney Sweetman-Kirk, who is hoping the issue isn’t as bad as last week’s scenes at Newcastle.
“We hope it’s nothing too serious,” said the forward, who now plays for Sheffield United in the FA Women’s Championship.
“We have seen over the last few weeks and this incident at Newcastle how serious it can be.
“But the medical staff seem to be there quickly, so hopefully this fan will be cured. “

When the second half was delayed, Peters added: “An away fan also needed treatment and then there was an announcement.
“It appears that this medical issue has been resolved to some extent, with the ventilator being carried on a seated stretcher. “
The players quickly got out of the tunnel for a quick warm-up after the extended break, before the start of the second half.
Just last weekend, Newcastle’s Premier League clash with Tottenham at St James’ Park, suspended for 20 minutes towards the end of the first half as a similar medical emergency in the stands became apparent.
Players from both teams alerted referee Andre Marriner and medics after fans in the stands briefed them on the situation.
Spurs pair Sergio Reguilon and Eric Dier also played a key role in ensuring the game was stopped and the man received prompt treatment, including CPR and shock from a defibrillator.
The game resumed after the fan was stabilized and taken to hospital, and the Northeastern club confirmed later on Sunday evening that they were “stable and responsive”.
