Since 2019, the ukb has been training 20 physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists each year at three corresponding schools. Since autumn 2024, the three therapy schools have been supplemented by the nursing school, which will train 75 nursing specialists per year.
MedAk sees itself as a learning and developing organization. It promotes and initiates the personality and professional development of trainees with the aim of training critically thinking and reflective practitioners for healthcare in Berlin and Brandenburg.
As part of the ukb, the MedAk can draw on the technical expertise of the ukb employees and strives to incorporate the resources of the health campus. The lessons for prospective therapists and nurses will initially take place in interim rooms at the ukb. A historic building is currently being converted on the ukb health campus, which will offer therapy trainees modern training opportunities. Planning is underway for a new school building for nursing trainees, also on the ukb health campus.
