Mediatonic apologizes for bug affecting Fall Guys’ in-game purchases

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic has apologized to players after an annoying bug in the Fal Guys in-game store came to light. Due to the bug, in-game purchases were made without the player’s consent.

Mediatonic is making the apology via the Fall Guys Twitter channel. They come more than a week after players reported on Reddit that they were making purchases from the Fall Guys in-game store while only looking at the items.

Players were according to PC Gamer initially not believed by Mediatonic. People who reported to customer service were treated as customers who regretted their purchase. There was no question of an in-game bug, they were told. “The purchase was made by you, not a bug. Whether the purchase was intended or not is the question,” a player is said to have been told.

Mediatonic is now coming back to that. The company says it is working on a patch that will fix the problem. Until then, players who purchased a cosmetic between June 21 and the release of the patch will get their money back if they request a refund.
