Jakarta, Selular.ID – MediaTek just revealed its financial report for September 2021 last week. The company recorded strong growth with total sales revenue of 47.906 billion New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 1.71 billion US Dollars).
According to the financial report, the Taiwanese chipmaker giant recorded a sales revenue growth of 26.5 percent in the same month in 2020. Moreover, the company even recorded a month-on-month growth of 11.91 percent.
The figure marks a new milestone for the company, which has seen an excellent third-quarter performance. In particular, the performance of the first three quarters of this year has even exceeded expectations of annual sales throughout 2020.
In the third quarter of 2021, the consolidated sales revenue was 131.174 billion New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 4.68 US Dollars). This marks a 4.3 percent quarter-on-quarter increase and a 34.7 percent annualized growth rate, which is in line with the brand’s previous estimate.
On the other hand, the total sales revenue for the first 9 months reached 364.76 billion New Taiwan Dollars (approximately 13 billion US Dollars), which is a sizable annual increase of 61.5 percent. MediaTek will announce its financial reports for the third quarter, and is expected to reveal its plans for the fourth quarter or even next year.
For additional information, this year seems to be a heyday for MediaTek. This is because a report last week from Analysts at Counterpoint Research stated that the Taiwanese chipset company topped the list as the leader in the mobile SoC market in the second quarter of 2021.
MediaTek’s triumph overcame Qualcomm, which has always been the acclaimed processor. Apparently, this is a record for MediaTek. For the first time in its history, it controls more than 40% of the mobile chipset market.
