MediaTek has unveiled its new system on a chip (SoC) called Size 8200which is said to be capable of delivering peak performance.
The chip is built using a 4nm process and features HyperEngine 6.0 which supports the Vulkan SDK to deliver ray tracing capabilities for gaming, as well as FPS boosts and intelligent resource optimization.
Dimensity 8200 is MediaTek’s first product that uses a fast Cortex-A78 core with a clock speed of 3.1GHz, while three other fast cores have a clock speed of 3.0GHz. Meanwhile, the four efficient cores Cortex-A55 have a clock speed of 2.0 GHz.
Another feature of the SoC is the Imagiq 785 Image Signal Processor (ISP), which supports 320MP photos and 14-bit HDR video capture from three cameras simultaneously.
The 5G modem built into the Dimensity 8200 complies with the latest 3GPP Release-16 technology standard, while support for 3CC bearer aggregation strengthens performance at frequencies below 6GHz. The SoC also supports tri-band Wi-Fi E for faster wireless connectivity, while the 2×2 antennas ensure greater connection performance and reliability.
“MediaTek Dimensity 8200 will enrich the gaming experience on premium 5G smartphones while delivering smoother gameplay with high frame rates, impressive graphics, and seamless connectivity,” said CH Chen, deputy general manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communication Business Unit.
“Furthermore, the addition of the Dimension 8200’s energy efficiency also means consumers don’t have to sacrifice battery life to experience super high performance,” he added in a statement received by detikINET.
