Mediatek 4nm chips to be launched in 2022

I would be the first manufacturer to get them

It has been rumored for a long time that Mediatek is about to launch a 4nm processor and this seems to be a reality very soon. In fact, it is the next challenge in technology, although it would not be the only one, since Qualcomm also prepares its own.

TSMC announced that in the third quarter of this year it will begin the tests for the production of these chips that will surely have more power and less energy consumption … Mediatek could be the first brand to acquire them, starting in the first half of 2022, focused on high-end smartphones, being its first client to hire TSMC.

Mediatek would provide those processors to Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi, to be the first manufacturers to use it in their equipment, to compete with the Snapdragon “895”. The commercial name under which it would be launched is not known but the most recent in 5G format were the Dimensity 900. One can only speculate support for SA / NSA networks, 5G dual SIM among other improvements. The passage of time will give more details.
