New movement in the television sector, weeks before the start of a new season of fiction and television productions. Mediacrest has signed Fernando Jerez as the new Head of Entertainment.
The producer of ‘El Cazador’ has been working for months looking for reinforcements for this division after deciding to increase the stakes in this department. Now it has decided to hire this manager, with more than twenty years of experience, who has just left Fremantle as reported by Confidencial Digital.
Throughout the three years he was in the production company of ‘Got Talent’, Fernando Jerez has been mainly involved in four productions. A docu-reality about Isabel Preysler that aired on Disney Plus, a program for Cuatro called ‘On guard: women against crime’, a documentary about footballers Iñaki and Nico Williams and the production of ‘Lost in the Amazon’.
Previously he held the position of Director of channel #0 and own production at Movistar Plus+He was the general manager of Discovery Spain and the director of antenna for the La Sexta channel group. He was also the director of antenna for Cuatro when it still belonged to the Prisa Group, the programming director for Antena 3 and the director of antenna and programming for Telemadrid.
He replaces Hugo Tomas
Fernando Jerez replaces Hugo Tomás, who has been appointed Executive Producer of Programs at ITV Studios Iberiajoining on September 1 and reporting to Nathalie Garcia, the CEO.
In his new position, Tomás will lead the adaptation of ITV Studios formatsreality shows, factual shows, dating shows and internationally recognised competitions, such as ‘Come Dine With Me’, ‘Love Island’, ‘The Chase’ or ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here!’. He will also work on the creation and development of original local productions, in close collaboration with Miguel Vila, Creative Director.
Con a 25-year entertainment careerTomás has extensive experience in format adaptation, production and international business. This executive has played an important role in major international franchises in Spain such as ‘MasterChe’, as well as ‘La Isla de las Tentaciones’, ‘Maestros de la Costura’ and ‘Perdidos en la Tribu’,
