Reacting to the declaration of the Catholic Bishops of the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO) raising the question “of the holding of the next elections constitutionally fixed in 2023”, the Secretary General of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS / Tshisekedi), Augustin Kabuya let it be understood “that they are ready for the elections, if there will be any in 2023”.
“We don’t have lessons to learn about elections. Our party is one of the parties that has always called for an election.
And for that we are ready for the elections, if there will be any in 2023, ”he declared in front of the combatants gathered in political morning on Thursday March 4 at the headquarters of the UDPS.
Augustin Kabuya protests against any campaign aimed at discrediting the mission of the Catholic bishops gathered within CENCO, as a civil society organization.
“I condemn those who insult the Catholic prelates, who nevertheless joined the primary motivation of the UDPS to see the elections be organized in 2023”, he concluded.
