Canada and the Democratic Republic of Congo want to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy, after 60 years of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Canadian Ambassador to the DRC Benoit-Pierre Laramée said so on Thursday January 20 after discussions with Senate President Modeste Bahati Lukwebo in Kinshasa.

The two personalities also spoke of economic cooperation and the improvement of the business climate in the DRC, indicates a dispatch from the communication unit of the Senate.

Canada promises to support the Congolese government, particularly in the area of the fight against global warming and in the sharing of experiences in the higher and university education sector. This is how the President of the Senate and the Canadian Ambassador to the DRC raised the possibility of research and scientific exchanges between the universities of the two countries.
