The NBA said in June that the next season could start on December 1, but the NBA Players Association (NBPA) has never endorsed it as a start date.
“The NBA administration today informed the league board that the 2020/2021 season will start no earlier than Christmas. Drafts will be on November 18, but the start of the season has not yet been determined,” Karania writes on Twitter, referring to sources close to the situation.
The first game of this season’s final series is scheduled for September 30. If the teams play up to seven matches in the final, the season will end on October 13.
The NBA season continues at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
