Several crimes in the parade

Location: Dresden city area

On Saturday, the Dresden Police Department carried out a deployment to a registered car parade (see media information no. 108/21 of the Dresden Police Department from February 20, 2021).

In retrospect, the police sometimes became aware of facts that resulted in criminal offenses in connection with the gathering.

During the motorcade around 4.15 p.m., a dispute on Reichenbachstrasse became known, in which meeting participants clashed with two cyclists who had previously blocked the elevator. At around 5 p.m., four cyclists on Augsburger Strasse prevented parts of the motorcade from continuing. There were also blockade actions by individual people later on Bautzner Strasse, which were ended by the police. In this context, damage to a car by throwing stones became known (already reported as property damage). At the end of the elevator in the Marienbrücke area, there was also another stone’s throw at the meeting. There are no known suspects or injured persons.

In the meantime, another report of property damage has become known. Furthermore, there is a complaint of bodily harm because participants in the meeting used physical violence against opponents of the meeting. The police are investigating all known cases and following up on the operation.

As part of the safeguarding of the gathering, a traffic police officer was hit by an uninvolved third party and was slightly injured.

In connection with the criminal offenses mentioned and the gathering, the police are looking for witnesses who can provide information about incidents or who have themselves been harmed. The Dresden Police Department receives information on (0351) 483 22 33 (lr)
