Given the success of the first call for Medellín Music Lab, The District opens a new call to find another 250 ‘toughest’ young people in the music industry.

This project aims to discover and promote emerging talent in the city, offering training, visibility and professional development opportunities for the roles of performers, producers and composers. The associated roles include marketers (dedicated to marketing tasks) and lawyers specializing in music and audiovisual law.

The mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez Zuluaga, assured that “our first edition was a success, and since good things repeat themselves, we are going for the second. We once again look for the tough guys in the industry, we promote the city’s emerging talent, we provide unique opportunities for training, connection and visibility for our young artists.”

The preselected will be 250 young people, who will have access to a networking space and a training conference with special guests from the music industry. They will subsequently perform an in-person audition, and those who are selected will access a training and musical development camp.

“For this reason, we are inviting all those talented and talented young people who vibrate with the music industry to enroll in the second version of Medellín Music Lab, so that together we can promote their life projects and continue positioning our city as the creative capital. in the world,” said Youth Secretary Ricardo Jaramillo.

According to the performance, six winners will be chosen in the camp for artistic roles, who will obtain ownership of the phonogram of the performance they have made and the production of a professional video of their song. In addition, there will be four winners for associated roles, who will receive an audiovisual production to promote their personal brand.

Likewise, all winners will be part of a visibility strategy designed to boost their artistic projection and strengthen their presence in the music industry. Those interested can consult the terms and conditions and register until November 7 or until they reach 2,000 applications, whichever comes first.
