Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of Education Announces Free Graphic Novel Vouchers for World Book Day 2024

For World Book Day in April 2024, the Ministry of Education in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania would like to give school children book vouchers for a graphic novel next year. Schools can register for the campaign called “I’ll give you a story” until the end of January 2024. From April 19th, students will receive a free copy of the new graphic novel “Mission Robot: An Exciting Case for the Happiness Agency” by author Anke Girod and illustrator Timo Grubing upon presentation of the voucher.

With the project, the Ministry of Education, the Reading Foundation, the Book Culture Foundation, the Reading Promotion Association of the German Book Trade Association, Deutsche Post DHL, cbj Verlag and ZDF want to encourage children to read and parents to read aloud. “Education studies have made it painfully clear to us that our children’s reading skills are worse than ever before,” said Jörg F. Maas, general manager of the Reading Foundation.
