Meaux hospital is being renovated

The Meaux hospital is the subject of a vast extension and modernization project. Preparatory work has just been launched.

In order to improve the conditions of hospitalization and the attractiveness of the hospital of Meaux (Seine-et-Marne), the Grand Hôpital de l’Est Francilien (GHEF) has decided to renovate it. Under study for several years, this expansion and modernization project, costed at 170 M € and 70% self-financed by the GHEF, will be able to begin.

As part of this project, a new building, called MCP, or Medicine-Surgery-Psychiatry, will be built on the usual parking lot for hospital staff. In order to prepare for this site, the development works of the new temporary car parks were launched on October 19. This operation will affect three different sites. The first is located between the women-children center and the neighboring school. It should offer 100 parking spaces. The second temporary car park is located behind building A. As for the third site, it is located outside the hospital grounds, rue Laennec. Once the work is completed, this car park, which should accommodate 35 parking spaces, will become a green space again.

Construction of the MCP building will begin from July 2022. This new infrastructure will accommodate, among other things, the technical platform, the outpatient surgery unit and emergencies. This project, which should be completed at the end of 2025, also provides for the renovation and upgrading of building B. Ultimately, the latter will have several medical offices and outpatient facilities dedicated to diagnostic and medical activities. ‘Evaluation.
