The number of hospitalizations of patients with coronavirus is increasing every day. Some hospitals have already begun to postpone other operations. This makes it more difficult for patients to access healthcare. An example is Ivan from Záhorie, who suffered from toothache. However, he had to undergo a PCR test before surgery. And there was a problem.
As the television reported AwningIvan was due to have surgery on Tuesday. “The dentist told me that I should go for a PCR test on Monday morning, that the results will definitely come to me,” said Ivan, but did not count on a complication. The results did come to him within 24 hours, but only after the samples reached the laboratory.
Samples of preoperative PCR tests should be preferred to others, and mobile sampling sites have promised NCZI to evaluate them within 24 hours. However, the path of the sample to the laboratory must be added to this. “I was working in pain, we had to look for another date for the operation. I couldn’t even concentrate. If the operator told me it wouldn’t be within 24 hours, I could have avoided unnecessary complications.” added Ivan.
