The World Health Organization considers these diseases to be highly contagious.
In the case of measles, for example, it can kill 10% of those infected in vulnerable populations.
That is why the Ministry of Health insists that parents take their children to receive the doses. And even more before starting the school year 2022-2023, which is scheduled to start on August 22.
The health authorities expect the campaign to reach at least 3.7 million children to prevent outbreaks of the three diseases.
The initiative comes after the Pan American Health Organization alerted of new cases of measles and poliomyelitis in countries of the region such as Brazil and Venezuela.
