Measles Outbreak on the Rise in Kazakhstan, Health Authorities Warn

In Kazakhstan, vaccination against measles is mandatory. Children are vaccinated for free, at one year and six years. The national vaccination program includes ubiquitous airborne infections, including rubella and chickenpox.

The last massive measles epidemic in the country was in 2019. Almost 11,000 people were infected then.
