In line with the trend of easing the Chinese government’s “zero corona” policy, the city of Beijing has decided to allow dining in restaurants provided a negative PCR test certificate is presented.
On the 6th (local time), the city of Beijing announced some relaxed measures, saying it had decided to adjust the PCR testing policy starting from this day. Authorities said a negative PCR test certificate received within 48 hours is required to enter restaurants, computer rooms, bars, karaoke rooms, public toilets and health clubs. A vocal certificate within 48 hours is also required to enter nursing homes, kindergartens and schools of all levels.
However, PCR testing is not required in public places such as shopping malls and commercial buildings. Access to parks in central Beijing also does not require a certificate.
With the recent upsurge of Corona 19, the city of Beijing has completely banned dining in restaurants since 19 last month, but it is interpreted to be conditionally allowed as the economy deteriorated and citizens protested. Beijing’s anti-epidemic authorities stressed that “regions should continue to provide free PCR testing services to meet the demand for testing and epidemic prevention activities.”
Access to the airport lounge has become free. Capital Airport Group announced today that it is possible to enter the lounge of Beijing Capital Airport and Daxing Airport without a negative PCR test certificate. However, to board a flight, a voice certificate is mandatory as before.
Recently, “empty protests” continue in various parts of China, and the Chinese government is taking relaxed quarantine measures. Reuters, citing multiple sources, said China could announce 10 new easing measures as early as the 7th.
