“MCTominay urged to depart from MU and sign with Newcastle”

Jakarta

Scott McTominay advised to leave Manchester United then join Newcastle United. McTominay’s playing opportunities at MU are now shrinking.

The Scottish midfielder faces stiffer competition following the summer arrivals of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen. McTominay has indeed been played 32 times, but he has only started 13 times.

Newcastle are reported to have tried to recruit the 26-year-old footballer in the last winter market. McTominay welcomed Newcastle’s interest, but United refused as they did not want to sell players to their fellow top four finishers.

However, it is believed that Manchester United will change their mind in the next transfer market. The Red Devils need money to fund the purchase of new players.

Contract Scott McTominay at Old Trafford still remaining for the next two years. Danny Murphy believes McTominay will be a good fit for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle system.

“I really like Scott McTominay,” Murphy told talkSPORT. “I think he often gets unfair criticism.”

“Eddie Howe and Newcastle United’s playing style, he is perfect. Very athletic, box-to-box. A hard worker, good at detecting danger and passable with the ball,” continued the former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur player.

“You could argue they already have Sean Longstaff, who is quite good in the role, but you’re talking about a club hoping to be in the Campions League. That means you play high quality games in every midweek and on weekends and they need competition.”

“They need more midfield players, they have shown that recently when they have been hit by injuries. I think McTominay would be a super signing for them,” Murphy concluded.
