McLaren announces Will Courtenay as new Sports Director

Madrid. The McLaren team announced this Tuesday the arrival of Will Courtenay as its new Sports Director, a position he arrives at after having spent two decades at Red Bull, where he was currently its Head of Race Strategy.

According to McLaren, Courtenay will “help grow the sporting operations” of the British team, where he will report directly to Randeep Singh, Racing Director. “Will’s experience will add further depth to the team’s sporting operation and help drive performance within the team,” he added.

“We are delighted to welcome Will to McLaren. His experience, professionalism and passion for motorsport make him the ideal candidate to lead our F1 sporting function,” said Andrea Stella, Director of McLaren F1.

The Italian recalled that they are currently facing “a key phase” in their development in the Formula 1 World Championship. “We are confident that Will will be a great addition to our solid leadership team as we strive to continue fighting for victories and championships.” , he sentenced.
