For the people who say they cannot do without the meat variant, there is good news: the ‘old’ McKroket is coming back. The snack can be ordered again at the beginning of November, McDonalds confirms to RTL News.
“We didn’t realize how many fans there are of the McKroket,” a spokesperson said. “That has now become clear.”
According to McDonalds, the return of the ‘normal’ McKroket has nothing to do with the fuss that has arisen. “It’s just a temporary promotion, the ‘Meatless McKroket’, with the aim of inspiring consumers to vary a bit.”
Specific chip shop
There was an operational reason why the original McKroket had to make way for the vegetarian variant. “We of course have a specific fryer for the vegetarian McKroket, so that only allows one variant,” says the spokesperson.
In all likelihood, the ‘regular’ McKroket will remain on the menu permanently after his return. “It has of course been on our menu for years. That will also be the case in the future.”
