Last night, the first victory in the new season of the National Hockey League (NHL) was won by the Colorado Avalanche, who beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in overtime.

The Avalanche, who had started the season with four losses, came close after 60 minutes, but Ducks forward Troy Terry tied the game with 13 seconds left in regulation. Overtime was needed to determine the winner, where none other than Avalanche superstar Nathan McKinnon was to be Colorado’s hero – after receiving the puck in the neutral zone, he launched a solo attack against three Ducks hockey players, he made a shot and won for his team.

McKinnon finished the game with two RBI (1+1). The same chance for Ross Colton, who scored two goals, but another bright game for Finnish star Miko Rantanen, who helped his teammates three times. With ten (4 + 6) points, Rantanen is the third most productive player in the NHL.

In the “Ducks” ranks, in addition to Terry, the already mentioned Ryan Strome and the second number of last year’s draft, Leo Carlson, also scored a goal. Anaheim goalkeeper Lukas Dostal also had a good performance, saving 45 of 49 shots from the opposition.
