McGregor Dubbed the Machine of Excuses and Blasphemed by Netizens

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Conor McGregor was heavily denounced by netizens and dubbed the ‘Reason Machine’ after claiming his leg had fractured before breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in UFC 264.

McGregor reasoned that he had fractured his left leg while undergoing training before appearing at UFC 264. McGregor revealed the reason in a video upload on his Instagram account.

McGregor’s decision to reveal the reason his leg could be broken at UFC 264 received mixed responses. Some provide support, but not a few netizens who blaspheme.

Many netizens blasphemed McGregor and called the reasons revealed by the fighter from the Republic of Ireland unreasonable.

“Then why do you take so many kicks early in the fight against Poirier when you know you’ve cracked your leg?” asked most of the netizens.

“Let’s count how many excuses he made after being beaten again. I’ve only seen this video for two minutes and there are many reasons. Lol,” wrote the account @polcat05 in McGregor’s comments column.

It wasn’t just ordinary netizens who insulted McGregor. UFC welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal also referred to McGregor as the Reason Machine.

“Colby [Covington] and this person is the same person, an excuse machine,” Masvidal wrote in the comments section of ESPN MMA.

McGregor in the 6 minute 8 second video admitted that the UFC knew the leg injury he had before UFC 264. McGregor also said that he had been asked to withdraw from the fight against Poirier.

“I’ve been injured going into the fight. People ask, ‘When did he break his leg? In what moment did he break his leg?’. Asked Dana White, asked the UFC, asked dr. [Jeff] Davidson, UFC’s chief physician, they know I fractured my leg when I entered the octagon,” McGregor said.
