McDonald’s leaves Kazakhstan because it cannot replace supplies from Russia/Diena

“The fast-food restaurant chain operated by Food Solutions KZ will stop operating under the McDonalds brand in Kazakhstan due to supply constraints,” read a statement posted Thursday on the website of the McDonald’s restaurant chain in Kazakhstan.

He added that information will be provided shortly as restaurants reopen under a different name.

The “Bloomberg” agency, on the other hand, referring to anonymous sources, reports that “McDonald’s” has banned the dealer in Kazakhstan “Food Solutions KZ” from buying products from Russia. Thus, “Food Solutions KZ” was forced to stop purchasing meat products in Russia, but it is too expensive to buy them from local or European suppliers.

The McDonald’s network had 24 restaurants in six cities of Kazakhstan. The first restaurant opened in 2016.
