COSENZA – The Calabrian Regional Committee of FederBocce, after the natural stop linked to the pandemic, on the occasion of the usual ordinary Regional Assembly (and of the presidents), awarded its stars for the past 2021 season, delivering i awards to the best athletes, managers, clubs and referees of Fib Calabria for the disciplines of rap and flight.
The awaited award ceremony was staged at the Alt Art Park in Rende, the venue for the event also chosen symbolically because it is located in the Cosenza area where 85 years ago Peppino Reda brought the game of bowls to Calabria: it was on March 10, 1937 and with the birth of the Città di Cosenza club, the epic of this sport so practiced in our region began.

CALABRIA STARS FIB AWARD
Every year, as per tradition, our committee has awarded its best performers. The novelty of this new edition was represented from the title of the various awards to the bowls of the past who, in different guises, were protagonists for the Calabrian bowls. The award ceremony was thus an opportunity for celebrate those who have managed, in one way or another, to leave their mark not only in the 2021 season, but also in the entire history of the Calabrian basketball movement, both for the discipline of raffa and for that of flying.
«I wanted to give a different value to the award by linking it to the memory of those who have contributed to bringing Calabria to high levels“, explains the president Francesco D’Ambrosio, satisfied with the large participation. “They are names of masters of bowls and of life, but also pupils, who left us too prematurely. Some are therefore titles that are also bad, awards that in some way I would not have wanted to give “.
