Al-Marsad newspaper – Agencies: McDonald’s International issued a statement confirming that it does not finance or support any party to the conflict in Gaza.
This came after videos and posts spread about a McDonald’s agent in Israel donating 4,000 meals to hospitals, military units, and soldiers.
Boycott campaigns for the company spread in a large number of Arab countries, in response to its support for Israel.
The statement said: “We at McDonald’s International express our shock and extreme dissatisfaction at the misleading and false information and rumors that have been raised about our position on the current conflict in the Middle East.”
The statement added: “We affirm categorically that McDonald’s International does not finance or support in any way any governments or parties involved in this conflict, and that any action, action or decision taken by one of our agents is an individual action by that person.” The agent was taken independently and without our acceptance or approval.”
The company’s statement stressed: “Our hearts are with the victims of this crisis, and we are against violence in all its forms.”
It is worth noting that the statement was published on McDonald’s verified accounts in Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, but the parent company did not publish it on its website or its official accounts on social media sites.
