As the new Head of Marketing, Sonja Dirnböck is now responsible for the marketing agendas in the areas of Food, Family & Brand Extensions of the system catering market leader McDonald’s Austria in the team of Marketing Director Benedikt Böcker.
Born in Vienna, Sonja Dirnböck has been part of McDonald’s Austria for almost 15 years and has been a member of the marketing team since joining the company in 2007, where she was responsible for introducing breakfast at McDonald’s and driving key developments in the McCafé area. Since returning from parental leave in 2018, she has been responsible for the Food Innovation & Restaurant Experience division, where she played a key role in the development and introduction of the Signature Burger, among other things.

Before joining the system catering market leader, Sonja Dirnböck worked at Unilever Austria and Italy as a product manager and gained experience in the areas of product development, strategy and branding. The 43-year-old completed her degree in commercial science at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
