McDavid scored 100 points for the sixth time in the regular season and the first of the season for the fifth time. Previously in league history, only Wayne Gretzky (nine), Mario Lemieux (six) and Phil Esposito (six) have done so.
McDavid is third on the list of players who have reached 100 points six times under the age of 27, behind only Lemieux (seven) and Gretzky (eight).
Among current NHL players, in addition to McDavid, Sidney Crosby scored 100 points six times in a season.
