PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – Former CFO David McCormick handed victory to his opponent in the Republican primary for senator from Pennsylvania, Mehmet Oz, the candidate endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
McCormick said this Friday that he is not in a position to have the necessary votes to battle his opponent in the framework of the vote count that is almost complete.
“It’s clear to me that the vote count is almost complete, that we have a nominee,” McCormick said from a hotel in Pittsburgh.
HE WOULD FACE AGAINST DEMOCRAT JOHN FETTERMAN IN NOVEMBER
“Tonight is really about all of us, united,” he added.
Before the recount, Oz led McCormick by 972 votes, out of a total of 1.34 million votes counted in the May 17 primary.
Oz would be the opponent of Democrat John Fetterman in the mid-term elections in November, one of the most important since it could affect the balance in the Upper House.
