In addition to the new corona, there is concern about the spread of seasonal flu this winter.

In Kagoshima Prefecture, in the event of a simultaneous epidemic, the number of outpatients will reach about 10,000 per day, and the number of outpatients is expected to exceed the medical treatment capacity of prefectural medical institutions on weekends and holidays.

At the prefectural assembly on the 2nd, the prefectural government estimated that if the new coronavirus and influenza prevail at the same time, the number of outpatients will peak at about 10,000 per day. In that case, we will continue to request consultations during the day on weekdays, stating that weekends and holidays, when the consultation hours are short, “exceed the medical treatment capacity of the prefectural medical institutions.”

Furthermore, the preliminary data of a fact-finding survey conducted in the months of September and October of this year on sixth graders, lower and upper secondary school students on children who take care of household and family chores on behalf of adults, so- the name of “young carers” was also revealed.

9.1% of 6th graders, 5.8% of junior high school students, and 3.8% of high school students responded that they take care of their family members. 3.8% of 6th graders, the 4.6% of middle school students and 6.8% of high school students responded,

The prefecture plans to analyze the survey results and provide the necessary support.
