Star of Paris Saint Germain Kylian Mbappe upload photo together Lionel Messi on Instagram that sparked reactions from many, including Luka Modric.
Mbappe uploaded four photo angles where the last slide depicts the two players hugging very tightly.
“Welcome to Paris, Leo,” Mbappe wrote briefly.
The photo received mixed responses from netizens. Some say it is a welcome hug, but not a few also interpret it as a farewell.
Moreover, the Real Madrid midfielder also reacted by affixing a fire emoji that signified enthusiasm. The response from Modric has even been in the spotlight because Mbappe is being widely reported to want to move to Madrid.
Previously, L’Equipe reported that Mbappe deliberately did not extend his contract, which expires next year. This means that PSG will have to sell him this season to Los Blancos if they don’t want to release him for free.
Real Madrid is Mbappe’s main destination. Apart from being a giant club that has financial strength, there is Karim Benzema who is Mbappe’s role model striker.
The 23-year-old striker is even claimed to be not enthusiastic about Messi’s arrival because he has not congratulated him on social media since Messi officially joined PSG on Tuesday (10/8) local time.
Rumors of a move for Mbappe remained strong even after Mbappe uploaded a photo of him together as well as a welcome greeting to Messi.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said Mbappe had no reason to go to another club. Al-Khelaifi revealed he had fulfilled all of Mbappe’s requests to extend his contract. That is, currently the absolute decision is in the hands of Mbappe.
