Forward Vavá was the only one to date to score goals in back-to-back finals: 58 and 62 – he could be matched by the French in the final against Argentina. Pelé also scored in 1958, but his other goal in the final was only in 1970. Then it was the turn of the German Breitner: a goal in the 1974 final and another in the decision in 1982.
