Muscat: Mazoon Electricity Company organized an awareness campaign for employees and contractors on the environmental impacts and importance of environmental legislation in the Sultanate of Oman. The campaign focused on several topics on environmental conservation, including reducing the environmental impact of oil spills, managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and implementing environmental legislation.
The campaign’s goal was to raise awareness of environmental laws and reduce negative impacts on the environment and encourage participants to take the initiative to report harmful practices for the environment and collaborate with other sectors in a team spirit to achieve the ‘objective.
On the importance of the environmental campaign, a spokesperson for Mazoon Electricity Company said: “The environmental campaign was organized thanks to the company’s efforts to activate a system that sets high standards to preserve the environment, prevent pollution, preserve the resources and comply with environmental legislation All employees and contractors comply with company environmental regulations and we work as a team to achieve objectives through the continuous improvement of environmental performance, compliance with the standards required by applicable environmental laws and compliance with all the environmental requirements established by the company. “
In addition to the participation of the Mazoon Electricity Company, the campaign was attended by speakers from other major institutions such as the Environment Agency, Petroleum Development Oman, Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “Bee’ah” and Oman Electricity Transmission Company. including the environmental impact of the oil spill, waste management of all kinds and environmental legislation, separate collection of industrial waste and more.
