“Mazda Celebrates Delivery of Three Millionth Vehicle in Germany”

Mazda has delivered the three millionth vehicle in Germany. It is a Mazda 3 e-Skyactiv X 186 Homura with automatic. It was handed over to a local customer at Autohaus Blendorf in Herten.

Mazda started selling cars in Germany 50 years ago. After around 450 new registrations in the first year, by 1974 there were already 2000 vehicles. Six years later, over 46,000 Mazdas were registered in Germany. At the end of the 1980s, the brand increased sales to around 90,000 units and achieved a market share of 3.2 percent, making it the most successful Japanese automobile manufacturer in Germany. The company handed over the one millionth Mazda in 1992. Of the three million vehicles sold, around 900,000 are still on the road in Germany, according to Mazda. (awm)
