Maytree, the South Korean group that revisits Windows and Apple sounds in beatbox

TIKTOK – Like that, no jealousy. After a first buzz on TikTok in January, when they beatboxed these sounds composing the identity of Windows, the South Korean group Maytree attacked this Saturday the mythical ringtones of Apple. And it’s still so impressive.

They are five and are armed only with their voices and a digital tablet to make their videos. Without the help of any instrument, as you can see in the video at the top of this article, they repeat “Marimba”, “Opening”, “Xylophone” or even the sound emitted by the smartphone when you plug in its charger. These ringtones, any owner of an iPhone or other Apple brand product will only take a few seconds to recognize them.

The video has been viewed nearly 10.4 million times and follows the first viral TikTok in this series, where the Maytree group performed iconic sounds belonging to the sound identity of Windows. The resemblance of their beatbox version to the original sound of the recycle bin, the signaling of an error or the ejection of the USB medium is striking. This video has garnered more than 29.6 million views.

On TikTok, if they happen to use some mythical melodies from video games such as Tetris or Super Mario, the South Korean group has a habit of performing in a cappella very popular songs such as “Break my heart” by Dua. Lipa or “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd.
