Before handing over the power, the mayor Zdravko Dimitrov will make his last first sod. At 11:00 a.m. on November 6, Zico will launch the reconstruction of Tsarevets Street, which has been waiting for its renovation for the third year already.
The start of the renovation is extremely strange and is more for “history” to keep Zico in the annals, with the mayor starting it. The reason is that it is impossible to start work on Tsarevets Street by the end of the year.
The reconstruction and extension of the street is connected with two projects – of the Waterworks and the Municipality of Plovdiv. From there, the southern bypass collector must first pass, and only then the city authorities will finance the expansion and repair of the road and pedestrian section.
The initial project for Tsarevets Street was for the collector to remain in the existing lane. However, after more than 2 years of negotiations, it was decided to move him to the extension, which has already been expropriated.
In order for this to happen, however, it is necessary to first have a new coordinated project with an approved and supplemented building permit. Then indexation of the contract with “Eco project – Plovdiv”.
The project is currently submitted for approval, but has not yet been approved. This means that, at least until the end of the year, there is no way to carry out any activity from the waterworks. Only after the collector is moved and water pipes and diversions are built, the Plovdiv Municipality can work on the section. In other words, a year may have passed since the new mayor was sworn in. However, Dimitrov will start the reconstruction in order to go down in history.
