Mayor Wesner visited the “San José” Girls’ Home

On Tuesday morning, Mayor Maximiliano Wesner visited the headquarters of the San José Girls’ Home, where he was received by Guillermina Mieri, Alicia Altabe and Stella Couto of the board of directors and Sofia Rojas, Rocio Ruybal and Yesica Gallego, the technical team of the community, which has been providing support and assistance to girls and adolescents for over a century. In addition to the tour of the place, a meeting was held to closely monitor the reality of the entity and see how to deploy activities that allow it to continue supporting it.

First, the mayor of the Olavarría District toured the facilities of the building located on Belgrano 2219. Representatives and staff who work there accompanied him through the different spaces, as they recounted the current situation of the institution.

The “San José” Girls’ Home has a history that dates back to 1912, with a trajectory based on love, empathy and solidarity that has allowed them to earn the legitimacy and recognition of the entire Olavarría community.

It is worth noting that they also work in a coordinated manner with different local institutions, several of which are within the municipal sphere, such as the Local Service for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, as well as Day Centres or the Municipal Hospital.

After the tour of the different spaces, a joint work table was held, with the aim of developing proposals and activities that allow us to continue supporting the work carried out there.

The community leader was accompanied at the event by María Laura Gamberini, María José Maidana and Malena Pianciola, members of the Community Development Secretariat.
