Mayor Plans for New Building to Support Education and Community Activities

For Adrian Hofmann, supporting the education of children in the community is the most important task of a mayor. But he doesn’t direct his steps towards the entrance to the Abbot Columban School, but behind the building, where an old pavilion from the 1980s is rotting away. Dilapidated facade, broken windows. “The architectural sin is unmistakable,” he says, adding that demolition is inevitable. He wants to have a new building built here with rooms for a kindergarten and more space for the elementary school. And not just on the pavilion’s property, but also on the hard soccer field: “You see the broken pieces everywhere, nobody plays there anymore,” he says. There would even be enough space to build the mini soccer field that urgently needs to be renovated here, as well as a concert shell for the many music and traditional costume clubs in Münstertal.
