On Saturday July 8, the mayor of Saint-Martin-d’Hères, David Queiros received the Martinéois clubs, all members of the Municipal Sports Office (OMS), to pay tribute to them and congratulate them for staying the course, after the periods difficulties of the Covid.
All the sports activities of the territory were represented in the great hall of the municipal council of the commune with most often, the presidents of clubs or their representatives. And for this first edition, David Queiros first of all thanked them for having responded to his call: “Sport has become a major social issue, a creator of links and sharing, it is also a channel for youth. by instilling values dear to our city, fairness, teamwork, equality, discipline, inclusion, perseverance and even more important at this time in the agglomeration, respect”.

Next to the mayor, facing a room full of friends, family and club members, Franck Clet, the sports assistant, and Adi Guerbaa, the representative of the president of the WHO, Chaib Rami, who opened the session and the tour de table where each club was able to present its activities, its successes and its hopes. Impossible to quote the results of the 17 clubs represented, but among them, the SMH Foot which has the most licensees (547), or the ESSM Gymnastique which has among its 282 licensees, 262 girls.
Around the table there was Citadanse, and its leader, Sylvain Nlend, who has turned his association of urban culture into a dance and sports club, David Trillat, the president of Agri Tennis, which perpetuates science tennis with younger people. Combat sports were well represented, with ESSM Karate, ESSM Kodokan, Taekwondo, boxing from the Ring of Martin. Team sports were also all there, football, rugby, volleyball, basketball. And even the smallest club, ESSM Cyclisme, which has 26 members.
A panel of sporting, leisure or competitive activities which offers Martinérois all the possibilities of development and participation in the social and sporting life of the town.
